This quote changed my life.
I used to think that ‘making it’, whether it’s reaching my fitness goal, or financial goal or even relationship goal, I thought it meant that things would get easier.
I thought “once I achieve _________ I’ll be happy”
But then I achieved the goal.
And guess what?
I dealt with 8 months of depression and re-evaluating my values in life because I felt lost…
Why was I STILL struggling with body image issues after reaching my weight goal?
Why was I STILL nervous of not paying my bills when I reached my financial goal?
Why was I STILL unhappy when I got the lifestyle I wanted?
I remember meeting a person, let’s call her Mary, who told herself, “Once I get that house that overlooks a lake with the mountains in the background, THEN I’ll be happy.”
She moved across the country to Washington and moved in with her daughter. They happened to have a house on the lake, that overlooked the beautiful mountains in Lake Stevens, WA. Mary finally had the one thing she thought would make her happy… Instead of sighing relief and living her days the best she could, she complained that the house wasn’t big enough, that she wishes the lake had a beach she could sunbathe on better, she complained about the noisy summer boating season…
Another example, his name is Ted. Ted wanted to build a super successful gym as an entrepreneur. He spent YEARS doing all the right things- marketing, sales, strategizing loans, hiring trainers, etc.
Ted had FINALLY made it to being a millionaire, with a fully successful team and roaring gym business.
But he couldn’t sleep. He stayed up all night tinkering on his buisness, constantly worried
It was because my view was off.
When you achieve your goals, problems don’t just disappear.
𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗽𝗵 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺𝘀.
I can tell you…
⭐The problem of being tired from running a 5k is better than the problem of being winded going up the stairs.
⭐The problem of deciding how to pay off credit card debt is better than the problem of not having enough money for food.
⭐The problem of living alone is better than the problem of being in an unhappy relationship.
Life is full of problems. Our goals help guide us to becoming the type of person that can solve them, over and over again.
